Continuing a 42-year tradition of hosting symposia devoted to new topics in German literature and culture, the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures announces the 21st St. Louis Symposium:

"Distant Readings / Descriptive Turns: Topologies of German Culture in the Long Nineteenth Century"

The symposium will take place Friday, March 30 - Saturday, March 31, 2012 on the Danforth Campus of Washington University.

Please join us for a pre-conference open house in the Digital Humanities Workshop on Thursday, March 29th, at 5:00 p.m.

The symposium is free and open to the public.
